Play review of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time The play is called “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time” and happened in the black box theater in Cheshire Academy in November 15, 2019. The student director is Olivia Williamson and the major actors are Amelia Williams, Olivia Williamson and William Lempling.  This play is about an autism kid called Christopher who find his father Ed kills the dog and lie to him. Christopher wants to live with his mom Judy in London. Then his mom takes him back to take A level test and get a good grade. Finally his father apologize to him and give him a dog as a gift. The major theme of this play is about the relationship in an autism kid family. There are tons of scene about the discuss between Christopher and Ed or with Judy. Also the way of parenting Christopher changes. His father Ed always gets angry with Christopher because they have no way to have good discussion between them. Then the scene between Ch...

It starts with Christopher solving math problems. Siobhan tells Christopher it's not necessary to tell others how to solve the questions Ed wants to talk to Christopher and said very proud of him(Big change) Christopher wants to have a place where he can live alone Christopher really not want to talk to Ed at first. Ed really want Christopher to forgive him and give a gift to him with is a little sandy colored Golden Retrievers.(reflect with beginning) Christopher get an A on the math test. first performance is Percy, coal and Amy's mom to son. One thing that they emphasize about the poem is the interaction between mom and son. In the performance, son's angry face when his mom take away his phone and how disappointing his mom is. This is the way I think how mom want tell son something but son just want to play his mobile phone. What I think different Is the poem itself is about his mom trying to teach son something but in the performance there are not a lot of talking. On the other hand most of it are silence which really impressed me because silence not makes me feel the main point of the performance is off the topic of the poem but more close to it. For example, mom knock on son's shoulders makes the performance very interactive which makes me feels mom is teaching son something. 1. my first impression of the poem is looking at the structure of the poem. Is the poem have clearly stanza or it's just a long paragraph. However, both of them makes not that good first impression for me. because the poem which has clearly stanza. It's really hard to understand what is it talking about. Words confuse me a lot. For the poem which are looks like paragraph, they are not as confuse as previous style, but I can not understand the structures clearly, it's also confuse me. First poem is "The everyday enchantment of music" It's the style of paragraph poem. As I read it first time, I feel it talks about a lot of sounds but author intercept is as music also with some comfusion. 2.Sometimes, It's impossible for me to understand the poem at first place. Figurative language : personification: tears of the sea fell from the Bridge of Sighs Author believes rough sounds can be think as smoother sounds. Also menacing could be music.
